Helps Us Uncover Our Happiness From Within

  • We don’t concentrate, we don’t contemplate and we don’t control the mind. It’s an easy, effortless transcending technique. By sitting comfortably with our back upright and supported, we close our eyes and quietly pick up our mantra from inside. It’s a very simple, natural and innocent process. For maximum results, we meditate for 20 minutes twice a day.

  • Anyone that has worthy inquiry can learn to meditate regardless of cultural or religious beliefs. This ancient practice was designed for “householders,” people like you and me that are of the modern world. That means, in relationships, creating families, working a full-time job and being inclusive, relatable, and a socially responsible individual within the community.

  • Stress is not a situation or a set of circumstances. It’s a manner in which we react maladaptively towards the demands we experience. When we interact with demands effectively, we can encounter waves of happiness. When we become reactive toward the demands of the day, our behavior yields a fight or flight mechanism, which puts us into survival mode or a stress reaction.

Vedic Meditation dismantles the repertoire of behavior that leads to accumulated stress. In addition, this simple mental technique dissolves the stress that is stored deeply within the mind and body.

  • In the ancient Vedic perspective, the word “man” is derived from the word “manis” which means mind and “tra” means vehicle. Mantra is a “mind vehicle”. It liberates the mind by transporting it inward to a quieter state of awareness.

Each student of Vedic Meditation learns a personalized mantra, a bija mantra, which in Sanskrit means seed. This individuated or seed mantra is learned by a thoroughly trained Vedic Meditation Teacher who assigns it correctly according to the student’s physiology, characteristics and need.

The mantra itself is to be kept private. We don’t speak it, chant it, or write it. The mantra is onomatopoeic emulating the sound of nature. It has no intended meaning. It works on the level of sound. This sound or vibration is designed to take the mind towards a charming state of being.
