Shift the quality of your thoughts with deep rest.
HAPPINESS IS YOUR BIRTHRIGHT
Scientifically speaking, the mind naturally moves from one thought to another seeking greater happiness.
What is your mind like?
For years, I turned to trail running, triathlons, hiking and climbing the mountain peaks of Colorado with the hope of quieting my mind. I have always loved the outdoors and being active, but to what extent was my happiness dependent on how much I exercised? Pushing my body to the limit and numbing my mind with fatigue did not sustain long lasting joy.

Attend a Talk on Vedic Meditation
Prior to learning Vedic Meditation, we’ll meet either virtually or in-person to become acquainted and to understand what it is that I teach. Our goal is to ensure you are well-informed of this technique, so you may confidently decide whether you’d like to learn it. It is my pleasure to answer all the questions you may have and support you in this decision-making process.
Why Vedic Meditation?
There are countless meditation traditions, practices, and techniques that exist, so it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or confused about which one to choose. With so many options out there, how do you know what’s right for you?
All meditation practices have their benefits—nothing is "bad" when it comes to exploring techniques that bring relaxation and tranquility. The real question is: which practice will you enjoy daily, feel natural experiencing it and will deliver lasting results in health, wellness, and happiness?
Vedic Meditation is an ancient technique that has been practiced for thousands of years, rooted in a deep understanding of how to gently and naturally step beyond our thoughts. The beauty of Vedic Meditation lies in its simplicity and accessibility. It's designed for anyone—whether you're a complete beginner or someone who has tried other forms of meditation and had trouble sticking with it.
So, why do people choose to learn Vedic Meditation?
It’s Effortless: Unlike other techniques that require concentration or control over our thoughts, Vedic Meditation allows the mind to settle naturally into deep levels of rest, which dissolves stress from the mind and body. We don’t focus or try. We are simple, natural and innocent.
It’s Universal: This technique doesn’t depend on any specific belief system or lifestyle. It works for everyone—regardless of ones cultural background, age, or personal philosophy.
It’s Supported by Science: Research has shown that 20-minutes twice daily of this form of meditation can reduce stress, improve attention, enhance emotional well-being and stabilize a baseline of happiness.
About Me
I’ve been a teacher all my life. Whether it was mentoring university student volunteers for The American Cancer Society or teaching high school Spanish at Denver Public Schools & Boulder Valley School District, fostering an exemplary teacher + student connection that is inclusive, safe, enjoyable and dynamic is what I do best.
“I know your presence in the public high school teaching world will be very much missed, but the real world needs you back in it Daveeed (: ”
- Fiona (former high school student)
For me, life began to make more sense the more I traveled the world. I was captivated by the contrasts in the way people lived and I was fascinated by the many similarities that people shared. Global travel was a phenomenal way to appreciate and understand humanity.
As a child, I often pondered the meaning of happiness. I was unaware of just how unhappy I actually was. As I got older my mind raced with worry & my energetic, friendly nature often masked my inner stress. I had great enthusiasm for life and a big heart for others, but what about a heart for myself during tough times? To me, self-love was less familiar and strength was understood as overlooking vulnerability, befriending tolerance and rarely honoring personal preferences.
In 2017 I discovered Vedic Meditation— a transformative moment in my life. The technique felt natural to me. There wasn’t a performative behavior associated with it nor was there an expectation to look or talk a certain way. This restful practice was simple and brought joy and stability into my life.
After several years of experiencing the profound benefits of this technique, I felt inspired to share my happiness with others. I became a Vedic Meditation teacher, completing four years of advanced study followed by a rigorous 3000+ hour teacher training program in the foothills of the Himalayas. This training in India was offered by my teacher Thom Knoles (Maharishi Vyasanand Giri) the most revered and world renowned Master of Vedic Mediation.
